Dr. T.A.G. Gunasekara, Member of the Council, is a senior corporate administrator and also a retired university academic. He is an Incorporated Engineer as well as a Chartered Engineer with wide-ranging multi-faceted knowledge, involvement and experience in managing and leading several organizations and projects.  He has held very senior positions in the state sector such as Director, Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa, Director, Open University of Sri Lanka, Chairman of several state institutions such as State Engineering Corporation, Road Development Authority, Construction Industry Development Authority, Urban Settlement Development Authority, National Engineering Research & Development Centre, Road Construction & Development Company. He has admirably performed as the Project Director for few major projects in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Gunasekara holds an M.Eng. Degree from University of Moratuwa, M.Sc. (Eng.) degree with first class honors from National University of Ireland, and a Ph.D in Engineering from the same university. He has commenced his engineering career with a National Diploma in Technology from University of Moratuwa and the final Part II in engineering from the IESL examinations. He has been a council member of both the Institution of Engineers and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers of Sri Lanka and have held a number of positions in those institutions.
