Dr. K.A.Lalithadheera has been serving as the  Director- General of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) since 24^th April 2021. He has over 28 years of experience in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, particularly on policy formulation, research, national and district level training planning, training implementation, monitoring and the human resource development. He represents as the Ex-officio member of the Governing Councils of NAITA, Ocean University, NHRDC, and CGTTI.

Dr. Lalithadheera has written many books and articles on TVET, Research Methodology, Labour Market Issues, Economics, and Human Capital Investment.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ruhuna. He obtained the Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Colombo (2002,) and earned PhD in Economics at the same University in 2016. Dr. Lalithadhera is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Charted Professional Managers (CPM).
